The Ark City Fire and EMS Dept. issued the following statement in regard to a memorial service for firefighter Trevor Rusk.
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Arkansas City Fire and EMS Department announce the line-of-duty death of Firefighter/EMT Trevor Rusk.
“Firefighter Rusk served our community with dedication and bravery. His untimely passing is deeply felt by his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire community he so valiantly protected,” Fire Chief Stuart Cassaboom said.
Visitation Details:
A visitation service to honor Firefighter Rusk will be held as follows:
Date: September 3, 2024
Time: 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Location: First Assembly of God, 3125 N. Summit St, Arkansas City
Ceremony Details:
A memorial service to honor Firefighter Rusk will be held as follows:
Date: September 4, 2024
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: Wellington Free Will Baptist Church, 802 E. 16th St, Wellington, KS
“The service will be an opportunity for family, friends, colleagues, and the public to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a man who dedicated himself to serving others. Firefighter Rusk’s bravery and dedication to duty were exceptional, and he will be forever remembered as a hero,” said Cassaboom.

“We deeply appreciate the solidarity and support of our fellow firefighters during this difficult time,” Cassaboom said.
