Wanted Ark City man arrested on drug, stolen gun charges

Following a tip regarding the whereabouts of a wanted person, the Arkansas City Police Department arrested Aaron Robert Dorman, 26, of Ark City, in the 900 Block of N. Summit Street early Thursday morning.

​​According to a news release from the ACPD Friday, officers received information Wednesday evening that Dorman would arrive at a residence in Ark City and that he possibly possessed a stolen firearm. Officers had been attempting to locate Dorman due to three probation violation warrants issued through Cowley County District Court.

At about 1 a.m. Thursday, officers located Dorman at a residence in the 900 block of N. Summit Street.

Officers approached Dorman and active warrants were confirmed for his arrest.

Officers took Dorman into custody without incident.

At the time of his arrest, Dorman was found to be in possession of pills that were suspected to be Fentanyl, a firearm, and other drug paraphernalia. Officers were able to confirm from another jurisdiction that the firearm was stolen.

Dorman was transported to the Cowley County Jail and held on a $21,500 bond.

He faces charges of possession of an opiate with intent to distribute, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon, defacing a firearm, possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and three probation violations.
