William Newton Healthcare Foundation ‘Bass N’ BBQ’ benefit rescheduled due to lake water levels

The inaugural Bass N’ BBQ bass fishing tournament, BBQ competition, and kids’ fishing derby has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 24. Hosted by Winfield City Lake, all proceeds benefit William Newton Healthcare Foundation.

“The planning committee, which includes Winfield City Lake officials, determined that even though it has been raining all week, the anticipated water level will be too low to safely load and unload boats,” William Newton Healthcare Foundation Committee Chairperson Brittney Shaffer stated in a news release from the hospital Friday. “In moving the event to June 24, it is our goal to provide participants with the most optimal fishing experience.”

The registration deadline has been extended to June 19 for all three events.
