A Winfield football player is continuing to recover this week following some scary moments on the field Friday evening.
Senior Viking running back Cale Lindenman was knocked unconscious in the first half of a game against Circle. He was injured when his head hit the turf as he was tackled on a running play, according to his mother, Beth. (Continue story below.)
Cale was taken off the field by an ambulance and transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for evaluation. Tests determined there was no internal bleeding or organ damage and he had no broken bones, his mom said.
Lindenman sustained a concussion and is currently going through concussion protocol. He is feeling much better, she said.
