Levi Garwood, 25, of Winfield was booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield at approximately 4:30 p.m. today, according to online jail records.

Garwood was previously the subject of an arrest warrant issued in connection with a shooting that occurred late Nov. 22 in an alley in the 1000 block off Main Street in Winfield. In that incident, a 28-year-old man was injured by gunfire and transported for medical treatment. Police have said the victim survived and is recovering.

The arrest warrant for Garwood was issued on a charge of attempted second-degree murder following an investigation by Winfield Police that included interviews and a review of evidence. Investigators have said the shooting was believed to be an isolated incident and that the suspect and victim were known to each other.

At the time the warrant was announced, police warned the public not to approach Garwood.

Details surrounding Garwood’s arrest, including where he was taken into custody and whether additional charges have been filed, were not immediately available.
