A Winfield woman, injured last month in a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-trailer, has died.

Nicole Brown, 41, died Thursday at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, according to publicly released funeral information. She had been hospitalized since the crash Dec. 22.

The accident occurred at N. Summit Street and the U.S. 77 Bypass. Deputies were called to the scene around 9:10 a.m. that day.

Investigators said Brown was driving a 2010 Toyota Camry north on N. Summit Street when it struck a semi-trailer crossing the intersection from the U.S. 77 Bypass.

The semi was driven by 70-year-old Bobby Riley of Ava, Missouri. A passenger in the semi, 70-year-old Lou Cindia Riley of Ava, was not injured.

The Camry became lodged beneath the trailer. A passenger in the Camry, 46-year-old Jason Salem of Winfield, was also injured.
