An accident late Tuesday night north of Ark City left a woman hospitalized in Wichita, according to the Cowley Sheriff’s Dept.
Around 10 p.m., authorities and rescue crews were dispatched to 242nd Rd. and U.S. 77 highway for the report of an injury accident.
23-year-old Reyna Batrez, Park City, was driving a silver Nissan Altima when she failed to stop at the stop sign on 242nd Rd. Her vehicle entered the intersection and struck a gray 2019 Honda Pilot traveling southbound on 77.
50-year-old Jason O’Toole, Ark City, was the driver of the Pilot. His wife, Shannon O’Toole was a passenger. Both declined treatment at the scene.
Batrez was transported to SCK Medical Center by Ark City EMS and later to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis for further care. Her current condition was not immediately available. (
