Oxford man injured Wednesday when motorcycle and SUV collide in Ponca City

A 31-year-old Kansas man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident that occurred Wednesday in the 2600 block of north 14th Street in Ponca City.

Just before noon, the motorcycle and a 2023 Nissan collided in the southbound lanes.

Ponca City Fire chief Butch Herring said a man was transported via ambulance to the Helipad at Integris Medical Center where he was loaded onto an air ambulance and taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Herring said that the male sustained leg and trunk injuries.

On Facebook, family and friends said the man was an Oxford resident. He suffered a broken leg. Otherwise he had stabilized and continued to improve. (Continue story below ads.)

Names of those involved in the accident have not been released at this time. The driver of the 2023 Nissan was reportedly not physically injured.
