Enrollment at Cowley College has seen a significant increase over last year, the college announced this morning.

According to the latest report from the Kansas Board of Regents, following fall semester census day, the college reported 2,248 students, up 3.8 percent from last year. Full-time equivalent enrollment also experienced a rise, climbing to 1,628 – a 6.1 percent increase from fall 2023.

Of the total student body, 82.7 percent are Kansas residents, highlighting the college’s strong presence and appeal within the state. The school said “these encouraging figures underscore Cowley College’s ongoing efforts to provide high-quality, affordable education and support services to students while driving an aggressive enrollment management plan forward in three key areas: recruitment, enrollment, and retention.”

“We are pleased to see the upward progression with enrollment at Cowley College,” said Dr. Michelle Schoon, Cowley College president. “We launched a robust enrollment management plan last year and currently have five different project groups involved with developing and implementing enrollment strategies. Seeing this outcome with enrollment growth is a testament to these teams and their dedication to the mission and vision of the College.”

As enrollment numbers rise, Schoon said, the college remains focused on ensuring students receive the personal attention, quality instruction, and hands-on learning opportunities they deserve.
