Two people were injured Friday evening in a motor vehicle accident that occurred on U.S. 77 highway near Strother Field, according to a report from the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 6 p.m., Crystal Bonnell, 40, of Winfield, was at the stop sign on 7th Ave. at the north exit for Strother Field. She stopped in a 2009 Gray Honda Accord and then proceeded into the highway.
Bonnell’s vehicle collided with a 2022 blue Kia Sorento driven by Sheena Fowler, 40, of Winfield. The Sorento rolled multiple times following impact and came to rest in the median facing west-northwest.
Bonnell was transported to William Newton Hospital for treatment. Fowler was taken to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition. An update on their injuries was not made available as of the time of this report.
