Union State Bank is once again demonstrating its deep-rooted commitment to the health and vitality of Winfield and its surrounding areas. As the William Newton Healthcare Foundation prepares for its annual gala, Union State Bank renewed its annual pledge of $10,000, continuing its role as the presenting sponsor. This latest contribution brings the bank’s total giving since the foundation’s establishment in 2007 to over $200,000, underscoring a remarkable and consistent partnership.
“It is an honor to provide our continued financial support to William Newton Hospital as the presenting sponsor for the 2025 Gala,” stated Cory Helmer, Union State Bank Winfield Market President. “Union State Bank believes in the power of community and the importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare. We are proud to stand alongside the dedicated medical professionals of William Newton Hospital and to help advance the hospital’s mission of delivering exceptional care to our community.”
Beyond substantial financial contributions, the bank has actively participated in the foundation’s leadership, and its employees consistently volunteer their time and make personal contributions, showcasing a holistic dedication to community well-being.
Past support from Union State Bank has helped William Newton Hospital achieve significant milestones, including physician recruitment, crucial medical equipment upgrades, and various facility renovations. This year’s gala proceeds will be specifically directed toward the Second Century Campaign, funding Phase 2 of William Newton Hospital’s long-term plan to expand emergency care and address the growing demand for healthcare access across Cowley County and surrounding regions.
To date, the foundation’s annual gala has raised over $845,000, significantly impacting the hospital’s initiatives. The 18th annual event, a 1940s victory-ball-themed gala, promises an evening of entertainment, a five-course meal, and exciting silent and live auctions. It will be held at Baden Square in Winfield on Saturday, September 27.
