Three new providers have joined Cowley County’s healthcare community, expanding access to women’s health and primary care services in the area.
Katelyn Darnell, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, has joined Sunflower OB/GYN at William Newton Hospital in Winfield. Darnell, originally from Wichita, previously worked at Children’s Nebraska and Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita. She will provide comprehensive women’s health care, including well-woman exams, birth control counseling and gynecological services.
Her husband, Justin Onwugbufor, PA, is now practicing primary care at the Community Health Center in Cowley County’s Winfield location. A graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine, Onwugbufor has experience in behavioral health and patient care for underserved populations.
Also joining the Community Health Center is Lauryn Rayfield, DNP, APRN, FNP-C. With nearly 20 years in healthcare, Rayfield will provide family medicine services. She is currently working in Winfield but will move to the center’s new Arkansas City location when it opens this fall.
To welcome the new providers, the William Newton Healthcare Foundation and the Community Health Center in Cowley County will co-host a meet-and-greet reception Oct. 2 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Winfield Country Club. The event, supported by the H.L. Snyder Medical Foundation, is open to the public. RSVPs are requested by calling 620-222-6275.
Appointments can be made with Darnell at 620-222-6250 and with Onwugbufor or Rayfield at 620-221-3350.
