Deets Library, in partnership with the Winfield Public Library, will host “An Evening with Larry Hatteberg” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, on the campus of Southwestern College. Seating is limited.
The ticketed event will include a buffet dinner and a question-and-answer session with Hatteberg, offering attendees an opportunity to engage directly with the longtime journalist and storyteller.
Hatteberg will reflect on a historic moment in Winfield’s past — the visit of former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt to Southwestern College on May 4, 1962, when she spoke at a Model United Nations event, a visit still remembered by many in the community. Continue story below ad.
A Winfield native, Hatteberg spent more than four decades as an award-winning television journalist and anchor at KAKE-TV in Wichita. Since retiring from broadcast news, he has continued sharing stories through writing and public speaking, including several books exploring faith, aging, vocation and life’s defining moments.
